Bio:
Dan Cox is a Music Composer and Producer/Engineer originally from Uxbridge and now based in
Whitby, Ontario. Self taught, Dan has played in a number of touring bands such as Zenolith, The Shape and Lifeline performing covers and original music. During different recording projects, notably with R-MISSION he developed a keen interest in the processes. In early 2000 Dan started his own recording studio mediaguystudios. Not long after he met up with Jeff Walker producing 4 songs and mastering the first Midnite Stone CD. From both a performing and producing perspective his influences include Led Zeppelin, The Who, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Rush, U2, Janes Addiction, The Smashing Pumpkins, I Mother Earth, The Lowest of the Low, Econoline Crush, The Northern Pikes, The Cure, The Catherine Wheel, Radiohead, Trent Reznor, the Foo’s, Stone Temple Pilots, and the blood and guts of Johnny Cash. Current fav’s include Broken Social Scene and their off-shoots,
Mobile, Three Days Grace, Arcade Fire, Coldplay … the list goes on.
The Jeff Walker and Dan Cox "entity" is a Rock/Alt/Hot Adult Contemporary project born during the recording of Midnite Stone in the summer of 2000. Jeff''s unique observational lyrical style & musical base combine with Dan's edgy melodic guitar & production providing the core. The songs feature the vocals of Rui Cimbron. The mission statement is simple "World Domination" or failing that at least we can fool some chicks.
Other Musical Performers/Credits on the CD: Juno Award winning engineer and producer Norm Barker (Studio 92, Toronto), musicians Paul Walker, Jason Kemp, Brian Allossery, Tim Lambert, Victor Parks, Rui Cimbron, Jim Chesworth (many late nights!),
Jordan Rousseau, and Kristy-Lee Morrow. Special thanks goes out to Jain McMillan the Chili Queen for graphic design. Equally of special mention are Cliff Hunt and promoter Andrea Morris. Thank you all!
